Mr Van Grimbergen was appointed as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director and Vice Chairman of Maybank Ageas Holdings Berhad on 1 January 2024. He was also appointed as a member of the Risk Management Committee of Maybank Ageas Holdings Berhad on 1 January 2024.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Actuarial Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Mathematics, both from Universite Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. He is also a member of the Institute of Actuaries, Belgium.

Mr. Van Grimbergen has over 29 years of international experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Ageas SA/NV, Belgium (“Ageas Group”) in 2011, he worked with ING Group N.V., Netherlands (“ING Group”) in Risk, Actuarial and Retail Banking Departments from August 1993 to December 2010. During his almost 18 years long career at ING Group, he held various Senior Management positions, amongst others, Chief Actuary of ING Insurance, Belgium and ING South West Europe as well as Chief Risk Officer (“CRO”) of ING Retail Banking and ING Central Europe. In January 2011, he joined Ageas Group as a Group Risk Officer and member of Management Committee of Ageas Group. Subsequently on 1 June 2019, he was appointed as an Executive Director, Chief Risk Officer and member of Executive Committee of Ageas Group.

Mr. Van Grimbergen was the Non-Executive Director of Cardif Lux Vie, Belgium (a subsidiary of BNP Paribas Group) and Intreas N.V. (a captive reinsurer of Ageas Group). He was also a former Chairman of the CRO Forum Association, Netherlands. He is currently a member of De Warande Club, Belgium.

Besides the Maybank Group, Mr. Van Grimbergen currently sits on the boards of Non-Executive Director (“NED”) of Ageas Insurance International N.V. and Royal Park Investments SA/NV, Belgium. He is also NED and member of the Nomination & Remuneration Committee and Audit & Risk Committee of East West Ageas Life Insurance Corporation, Philippines. He is also a NED and member of Risk Committee of Aksigorta A.S., Istanbul, Turkey and AgeSA Hayat ve Emeklilik A.Ş., Istanbul, Turkey.
