Ampang, Selangor – Phase 5 of Etiqa’s Free Cervical Screening Programme with ROSE Foundation was officially launched today by Yang Berhormat Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, Minister of Health Malaysia. Continuing Etiqa’s commitment to work with the ROSE Foundation in eliminating cervical cancer in Malaysia, Etiqa commits to provide free cervical screening to 4,000 eligible women aged 30 to 65 years from underserved and underprivileged communities. The screenings will utilise ROSE Foundation’s internationally recognised Program ROSE (Removing Obstacles to cervical ScrEening), an innovative methodology that uses its own digital health registry to ensure timely result delivery to participants and linkage to care when necessary.
Since its inception in 2019, Etiqa’s Free Cervical Screening Programme with ROSE Foundation has already screened over 24,700 women and identified over 1,471 positive cases which subsequently linked to timely follow-up care over the past 6 years. ROSE has engaged 44 government hospitals nationwide for referrals, linking women with positive test results for appropriate care.
The new phase of this Etiqa’s Free Cervical Screening Programme with ROSE Foundation will enhance the existing initiative by establishing multiple ROSE hub models by providing test kits in various healthcare facilities throughout West and East Malaysia to offer free cervical screening services to the underserved communities, alongside ongoing community-based outreach under Program ROSE. This initiative aims to complement and support the national screening programme led by the Ministry of Health to improve cervical screening uptake nationwide.
