Dr Muhammad Najib Abdullah (Dr Najib) is the Deputy Dean of Faculty Shariah and Law, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) specialized in Usul Fiqh, Islamic Finance, Maqasid Al-Shariah, Comparative Mazhab & Al-Ijtihad and has been teaching undergraduate students in Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence, Fiqh Muamalat, Fatwa Management and Manahij Fuqaha since 2004.

Dr Najib holds a Bachelor of Shariah from Madinah University, Master and Ph.D of Islamic Revealed Knowledge & Human Sciences with a specialization in Usul Fiqh (Maqasid Al-Shariah in Islamic Banking) from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

Dr Najib is currently Chairman, Shariah Committee of Malaysian Industrial Development Finance (MIDF) Amanah Investment Bank Berhad; Chairman, Shariah Advisor for MIDF Amanah Asset Management Berhad; Member of Penang Fatwa Committee; Ordinary Member of Shariah Advisory Panel for World Fatwa Management & Research Institute; Fellow of Islamic Finance & Wealth Management Institute of USIM since 2007 and Trainer for Institute of Fatwa & Halal (IFFAH) of USIM.  He is also appointed as Committee and Consultant to the Ministry of Health of Malaysia in facilitating the practice of Islamic medical treatment at the Hospitals since 2014.

Throughout his service, he had actively involved in researching and consulting not only in the area of Maqasid Shariah and Ijtihad of contemporary issues but also Hajj and Umrah related issues.
